| Country | Red Hill offers a balance of alluvial creek and river frontages coupled with areas of red soil, grey clays and rocky/gravel Lancewood ridge country. Predominant timber includes Moreton Bay & Burdekin Plum on the Burdekin frontage and elsewhere Narrow & Silverleaf Ironbark, Box, Bauhinia, Wattle and Lancewood whilst pasture species include stands of Buffel, Forest Mitchell, Black Spear, Indian Couch, Urachloa, Seca and Verano Stylo's. |
| Carrying Capacity & Productivity | The vendors' current management programme is low-key and low-cost with a conservative stocking rate of approximately 350-500 breeders, maintenance of healthy pasture coverage, spelling and supplementary feeding late in the ‘dry' season. Vendor estimates carrying capacity at 1000 mixed cattle. In 2006 the property was aerial seeded with a mix of Stylos and it is now quite evident that this initiative will pay handsome productivity dividends well into the future. With more intensive management there is little doubt that productivity and carrying capacity can be further improved. The herd is continuous mated with an estimated calving rate of 75% and Bulls joined at 3%. Weaners are usually grown out at Red Hill until approx 250-300kg liveweight when, usually after the wet season, a draft is trucked to the coastal fattening property at Giru. |
| Rainfall |
Long term annual average 580mm (approx 23inches).

| Cattle Yards | There is one high quality set of steel & timber cattle yards, 1000hd capacity, with loading ramp, crush, branding cradle and chemical storage facilities located near the centre of the property. Red Hill has been subdivided into 7 paddocks and a comprehensive laneway network links trapped watering squares and all paddocks to the yards.
